What was everyone so disappointed with in Madden this year?
No online replays and leagues? Those are VERY bigs.
I've always been a 2k guy, but I think the new Madden was the closest of actual gameplay to 2k as it's ever been. It's not that bad of a game. The momentum system and passing game felt right just like 2k.
The defensive back AI needs some work, but what game didn't in this area.
I'll probably get the 2k because everyone else is, but I need real NFL teams and rosters. Madden for franchise and online...2K for our league.

Of course the online gameplay and leagues are HUGE MAJOR disappointments...
Aside from that... players do not seem to flow very well... EA has always had the "sliding" issues....
Players look kinda squaty to me.. something about them seems off...
The momentum I have to disagree with you there... throw an out route and watch the guy slide out of bounds when he should be able to stop.... They need to address this... when real NFL players head towards/get close to the sidelines they slow down to make sure they can make the catch in bounds and maybe make a play. In Madden you swing it to a back and 99 times out of 100 he runs straight out with out you being able to do a thing with him....
There are still the "money" plays which I hate.
I also do not like the fact that the QB can still run and thow so darn accurately.....
LBs still make some super human plays.
I almost have to try not to get a first down in this game by avoiding plays I know will work all the time. I hate that. Madden feels like you always need 1st and 25 to make the game challenging. You should not be able to play a 5 min quarter NFL game and have scores like 52-38.
2k may be behind Madden in Looks now... since Madden has been able to make these for the past couple of seasons... however gameplay is more my interest.
2k5 never seemed to have that "money" play.... some worked better but nothing was 100% like you seem to have in some of Madden plays. 2k just gets it right with gameplay for their past football and basketball games.
I do not need NFL roster updates to have fun with a football game. Actually building my team, modifying my team colors, logos etc and playing with them is much more appealing than just playing with the Dallas Cowboys or whatever.
Thats one thing I always enjoyed about NCAA before they yanked it with the 360...the ability to create your teams look.

No online leagues or replays and with the ESPN license the presentation is lacking. but if I want to play my Saints I will have to pick it up. It looks like I will have all three football games this year.
